Position Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the visionary and strategic leader of OneJax, responsible for advancing the organization’s mission, strengthening its community impact, and ensuring long-term sustainability. Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Directors, the CEO serves as the public face of the organization, cultivates key relationships, leads fundraising efforts, manages staff and operations, and drives innovation in programs and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder, accomplished fundraiser, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader who demonstrates a deep appreciation for and an unwavering commitment to interfaith work and is passionate about bridging divides and creating positive social change.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
•Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and execute a clear strategic vision for the organization.
•Identify opportunities to expand OneJax’s impact, relevance, and reach within the community.
•Lead organizational planning and establish measurable goals and outcomes.
•Ensure programs align with the mission while adapting to emerging community needs.
•Balance mission-driven work with sound business and financial practices.
Fundraising & Resource Development
•Serve as the organization’s chief fundraiser and philanthropic ambassador.
•Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
•Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies and revenue goals.
•Lead grant development efforts and oversee donor engagement activities.
•Strengthen and expand relationships with existing and prospective supporters.
Community Engagement & External Relations
•Serve as the primary spokesperson and public representative of OneJax.
•Build relationships with civic, business, educational, faith-based, and nonprofit leaders.
•Represent the organization in media interviews, public forums, community events, and donor meetings.
•Clearly articulate the organization’s mission, values, impact, and vision.
•Strengthen OneJax’s visibility and reputation throughout Northeast Florida.
Program Leadership & Impact
•Provide leadership and oversight for all programs and initiatives.
•Foster innovation and identify opportunities to evolve and enhance programming.
•Ensure programs deliver measurable outcomes and meaningful community impact.
•Promote collaboration across sectors to address issues of inclusion, understanding, and community cohesion.
•Utilize data and stakeholder feedback to inform program strategy and continuous improvement.
Organizational & Financial Management
•Lead and develop a high-performing staff culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and inclusion.
•Manage organizational operations, budgets, and resources effectively.
•Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
•Oversee financial sustainability, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Board Partnership
•Maintain a strong and transparent partnership with the Board of Directors.
•Support board engagement, governance, and strategic planning efforts.
•Provide regular reports on organizational performance, finances, and impact.
•Assist in identifying and cultivating future board leadership.
Education/Experience
•Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
•Senior-level leadership experience in the nonprofit, education, civic engagement, philanthropy, or related sector.

Location: Hybrid role based in Jacksonville, FL
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience
Additional Details:
•40 hours per week; flexibility required for evening and weekend programs and events
